The season we’re in and the call to dream again
Many of us have felt it — a heaviness, weariness, a loss of joy. The pressure of trials, the chaos around us, and the constant spiritual push and pull can make even the strongest feel drained. Yet God is inviting His people into a new posture: it is time to dream again.
That invitation doesn’t ignore real struggles. Finances, health, broken relationships, loss — these are real. But the wilderness seasons serve a purpose: pruning, strengthening, and teaching submission so we can lay down the flesh and rise renewed. As Galatians reminds us, “do not grow weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9).
Vision matters: what you see determines what you receive
God used the story in Genesis to show how powerful imagination and vision are. In Genesis 11:6 we read,
“And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” (Genesis 11:6)
That verse warns of ambition without God — but the principle remains: what you imagine shapes action. For the believer, our imagination is redeemed. We must begin to see the answers to our prayers with our mind’s eye so we can receive them in faith.
If all you can see is your present circumstance, then that is what you will call into being. Instead, learn to call those things which be not as though they are. See yourself whole. See your finances restored. See your family reconciled. Seeing precedes receiving.
Write your vision and make it plain
Habakkuk gave a practical instruction in a dark season:
“Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” (Habakkuk 2:2)
Make your God-given dream visible. Write it down. Meditate on it. Let it become the thing you run toward, not simply a wish you forget when life squeezes you. When vision is clear and accessible, faith can act on it.
Faith, words, and the reality we live in
Faith is not wishful thinking. Hebrews defines it:
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
Hope anchored in God has substance because it rests on His promises. Empty wishing has no power. Speak God’s truth over your life because words create. As Proverbs says, death and life are in the power of the tongue — what you speak will shape your world (Proverbs 18:21).
Speak life over your body, your children, your home, and your future. Stop rehearsing lack. Stop saying, “I’m always broke” or “I always get sick.” Those declarations are the enemy’s script. Replace them with truth: “I am healed,” “I am blessed,” “I am more than a conqueror.”
Be single-minded in faith
Double-mindedness blocks manifestation. James warns that a double-minded person is unstable (James 1:8). When facing a report, a diagnosis, or a difficult circumstance, decide in your heart which Word you will stand on. Refuse to vacillate between fear and faith.
An example from life: when faced with a frightening test result, standing firm against the diagnosis and declaring God’s truth can lead to unexpected turnaround. Engage your faith at the altar, ask for prayer, and partner with others who will stand with you. Faith is active — it comes up and acts, not sits and sighs.
Activate your gifts and position yourself to be used
God wants His people to operate in their giftedness. Gifts like mercy, giving, hospitality, serving, helps, and administration are vital. Ask the Lord, “What gift would You like me to move in?” Be ready when opportunity comes.
Visualize using your gift: see yourself laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover, see yourself offering what you have and watching God multiply it. Ephesians 3:20 assures us that God is able to do far more than we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20).
Speak truth over symptoms
We live in a world where tests and reports can tell us facts, but facts are not always the final truth. You may be experiencing symptoms, but your identity in Christ and His promises are the truth. When symptoms arise, speak the truth. Declare your healing. Tell your body what God already said in Christ.
And remember Deuteronomy 28:1-14 — God’s blessing covers coming and going, storehouse, basket, body, and possessions. Walk in those promises. Lay hands on your home, your car, even appliances if that helps you practice faith — it’s about aligning your words with God’s word.
Creation waits — it’s time to rise
Romans 8:19 gives us a stirring reminder:
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” (Romans 8:19)
Creation is ready for the sons and daughters of God to step into authority. When we rise and operate in kingdom power, we help restore a world that’s been turned upside down. God is calling you to be all that He has called you to be — to co-labor with Him and bring heaven’s reality into the earth.
Practical steps to move forward
- Write and rehearse your vision. Put the dream where you will see it daily.
- Use your imagination for God’s purposes. Picture the answered prayer in detail.
- Speak God’s truth aloud. Declare healing, provision, and blessing over yourself and your loved ones.
- Refuse double-mindedness. Choose God’s word over fear and uncertainty.
- Step into your gifts. Say yes when opportunity comes and trust God to empower you.
- Engage community. Bring your faith to the altar and ask others to stand with you.
Final encouragement
This season has prepared you. The pruning and the testing have not been wasted. God is asking for availability more than perfection. Be willing to be used. Dream again. Speak life. Stand in your authority. The harvest is coming if you do not faint.
Application Questions
- What specific vision or dream has God placed in your heart that you can write down and rehearse this week?
- Which negative words or statements do you repeatedly speak that need to be replaced with God’s truth?
- What one gift or act of service can you step into in the next seven days to position yourself for God to use you?
Stand firm in the Word, speak life, and dream with God. He will do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think, according to the power that works in you (Ephesians 3:20).
